Quora’s new earnings programs are designed to reward creators for their contributions to the site. If you’re new to Quora+ or hope to set expectations for what you can earn through Quora earnings programs, read on for information on how these programs work and how that translates to earnings potential.
What is Quora+ and Quora+ revenue sharing?
Quora+ launched in September 2021 as a new subscription program for Quora users to support creators, access more content, and unlock a premium ad-free version of Quora. Subscribers pay $4.99/month or $49.99/year and can start their subscription with a 30-day free trial.
Revenue from Quora+ subscriptions is shared between participating creators. When a creator enrolls in the Quora+ earnings program, they become eligible to receive a share of the subscription fee paid by readers, based on engagement with their content.
How much will I earn?
It is not uncommon for creators to see a slow start to their earnings or to earn nothing at all while getting started. This is expected and it is where all creators start. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the total payout pool will grow steadily as Quora+ subscribers do. As the pool of subscriber revenue grows, more creators will earn and earnings per creator will grow. Each creator will have different earnings based on the below factors and other factors which may be added as the program develops.
What are the factors that determine earnings?
Quora+ earnings are determined by the following:
- The number of Quora+ subscribers among the followers of an individual profile and/or Space
- The degree to which followers who are Quora+ subscribers engage with a creator’s content
- The number of people who join Quora+ from a link on a creator’s content. The creator will earn a referral bonus when this happens.
Creators who become top earners will likely have high engagement (views, upvotes, and comments) as well as high numbers of Quora+ subscribers as followers. At the moment, most readers who engage with a creator’s content are already following the creator, so writing high quality content consistently remains the best way to grow earnings. Please keep in mind the program is new and changes will be made to better serve readers and writers as the program develops.
Who earns from content that is shared to a Space or elsewhere on Quora?
Earnings always accrue to the original author of a piece of content. When a post is shared to a Space by someone who is not the original owner, earnings based on engagement with that item accrue to the original author. Space owners or contributors may share content they did not write to a Space, to collect the best writing on a topic from multiple authors, for example, but earnings will still accrue to the original author.
