To use Quora on your Amazon Echo (Alexa), first enable the Quora skill from the Alexa app on your mobile phone:
- Select “Skills” from the lefthand menu
- Search for “Quora”
You will need to login to your Quora account, which you can do after you enable the skill via the Alexa app. In addition, the first time you use the Quora skill, you will be prompted to login to your Quora account, which you also do via the Alexa app on your phone.
Going forward, you can activate Quora by saying things like:
- “Alexa, launch Quora”
- “Alexa, ask Quora”
Once Quora is activated, you can ask your questions.
You can also start Quora and ask your question at the same time, by saying something like the following:
- “Alexa, ask Quora 'what is it like to drive for Uber?'”
- “Alexa, ask Quora 'what is the Higgs boson?'”
- “Alexa, ask Quora 'what is the best Cirque Du Soleil show in Las Vegas?'”
When we're confident that we've found your question on Quora and it has a good answer, we'll read a short summary of that answer to you. You can then choose whether or not to hear the full answer.
If we find your question but it doesn't have good answers yet, we'll ask whether you want to request answers for it. When the question gets an answer, we'll notify you via Quora as we do normally. The notifications will happen through Quora, not through the Amazon Echo device.
If your question hasn't been asked yet, we'll give you an option to add it to Quora. Again, when the question gets an answer, we'll notify you via Quora as we do normally.
